Edgar Stuart, a young resident of Waikara, attempted to commit suicide by cutting his throat with a razor. He bad been despondent since the death of his brother, who was recently drowned from the Muddy Creek dredge. The wound inflicted is of a serious nature, and the man was removed' to the Southland Hospital, where be lies in a critical state.
