THE WRECK OF THE NEPTUNE.
(rasas assoc—xicw nu»___.) AUCKLAND, May 23. At the nautical inquiry into the wreck of the Neptune, Captain Cliff* stated the vessel was exceptionally well found. Ho brought a vessel out of Kaipara twelve months sgo, but had not previously taken a vessel in. When crossing the bar he had a man aloft looking for the Tory Shoal buoy, which be had since learned had gone adrift. Suddenly the wind failed, and the vessel seemed to sag to leeward. She struck outside the North Spit, and* after striking she drifted to the northward, bumping all the way along the lee shore till the ballast began to come out of the bottom. She then stuck fast, and began breaking up. The seas were dashing right over her. Tbe crew waa provided with lifebelts, and a lifeboat launched.
