. MR LOUIS DANE'S MISSION. TJnHcd Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. (Received May Bth, 9.35 p.m.) LONDON, May 8. Mr Louis William Dane, head of the British mission .to Afghanistan, has been interviewed at Calais. He stated that a great durbar was held at Kabul, at which the Ameer announced the conclusion of a treaty, the text whereof was read. Leading Afghans presented an address, and -congratulated the Ameer upon the conclusion of the treaty. They thanked the British mission, and expressed their best wishes for King Edward's and the Ameer's healths. .Mr Dane declared there was no sign of Russian influence at Kabul. The Ameer indeed realises that his interests are identical with those of India.
