SENIOR COMPETITION.

Avon v Sydenham.—Avon started off at once to press the home team's goal giving Sydenham's backs an anxious time,, but no score resulted, and the ganlßthen went to the other end of the field after a neat run. Avon were busy defending for a time, until relief came through the agency of Luxton, Sepia, Smith and Ellis, foe game was then for a time in favour of Avon, but the home team managed .to cave aeveral shots at goal by Armstrong, Mitchell, and Ellis. Better combination by Sydenham, and good passing amongst the forwards gave Hamilton a shot at goal, and he found the nets. Avon played up strongly, and had things their own way. For the winners, Ellis (2), Armstrong (2), and Mitchell (1), were the scorers, and for Sydenham, Hamilton scored. Tynsley, Sepie, Bluett, Ellis and Grey for tbe winners, and Abra,. Snell, Ballinger, Sherwood and Duffield for the losers, played well. Mr L. Burley was referee.
