(special to "the raise. ,, ) BLENHEIM, April 19. Sir Robert Stout gave his decision on the Flaxbourne case this morning, the total amount granted to tho claimants being £181,675, which includes compensation for disturbance, and law costs.
(«tESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAM.) BLENHEIM,\ApriI 19. The Compensation Court sat at nines o'clock this morning, and announced its decision in tho case Clifford v Minister ot Lands, claim of £335,000 in respect to the compulsory acquisition of tho FJaxbourne Estate. The Chief Justice said he was glad to he able to announce that tho Court had come to an unanimous agreement. They assessed tho prico to be paid for tho land taken (approximately 45,600 acres) at £172,175. In addition, they assessed the loss caused by tho disturbance of business at £7500, and tho costs to bo paid by respondent to claimants at £2000. _ The total of these sums was £181,075. Jn with an agreement tho pai-.ties the Court iixed tho rate of interest to bo paid as from 31st March, 1905 (the dato of giving up possession) at 5 per cent, per annum until payment of the amount awarded. The Judge fixed the assessors' costs at ten guineas each per day (eight days' sittings), each party to pay his own assessor. * The Court then rose finally.
