FARMERS' UNION.

OXFORD BRANCH. The third annual meeting of the Oxford branch of the Farmers' Union was held at tlie Town Hall, West Oxford, last Friday, Mr W. Cooper presiding. There was a good • attendance. The chairman regretted the resignation of their hon. secretary (Mr L. 0. Ingram), and suggested that the incoming committee should deal with the appointment of a paid secretary, as the generous support accorded to the branch during tho past year fully justified such a course. The report, adopted, showed that eleven ordinary and three general meetings had been held, and that the present number of members on the roll was 115. The receipts were £24 8s 6d, and expenditure £23 12s sd, leaving a balance of 16s Id. The chairman complimented the members on the prompt payment of their subscriptions, and thanked them for the general interest which they had taken in the work. He was sure they agreed with him as to the large amount of useful work performed by their delegate, Mr John O'Halloran. The following officers were elected:—Chairman, Mr W. Cooper; vice-chairman, Mr A.. Meyers; delegates, Messrs O'Halloran and Cooper; committee, Messrs D. McGrath, J. Brown, W. Rysk, E. Lassen, J. McGrath, H. Smith, W. Harle, R. Budge, J. Fraser, J. Rossiter, A. Baxter, J. Ingram, A. Jansen, and J. Mounsey; auditor, Mr Tom. Hunter. After cordial rotes of thanks had been passed to the chairman and secretary, and Mr J. O'Halloran, the business closed.
