MARKING TROUT.

The Henley Fisheries Association (says the London " Standard ") recently carried out an interesting experiment with a number of trout in the local waters of the Thames. Ono hundred of those fish, each with a small silver tablet attached to the dorsal fin, were turned down, and by this means it is hoped to trace their rate of growth and movements. The tablets were inscribed H 01 to H 0100. It is believed that this is the first time.marked trout have been placed in a public angling river.
