CLEARING SALE
Thc clearing sale at the Winchmore homrstead, Aehburton, attracted a large attendance, and tho bidding was eitrenicly spirited. Tho ealo was held on acoount of the executors in, the estate of tho late Mr Geo. Hart, of Christchuich, and was oonducted by the National Mortgage and Agency Co. and Messrs Friedlander Bros. The lota included a largo number of agricultural and general farm implements, 5625 .sheep, and about a eoore of working horses. The following were prices:— Sheep:—6Bl full-month halfbred ewes at lGs Bd, 725 six and eight-tooth halfbred ewes at 21s 6d, 698 Down, crossbred lambs at 17s, 740 English Leicester cross lambs at 17s, 570 two-tooth three-qtiarter-bred civee at 22s 4d, 105 cull lamJM at 12s, 217 eight-tooth three-quarter-bred ewea at 22s 3d, 300 halfbred full-month ewes at 17s 9d. Horses ranged from £12 to £54, and implements realised good prioce. Mr David Allen's farm of 73 acres, vihich was offered for.eale by. Messrs H. Matson and Co., at Leeston, on Friday, and passed in at £21 10a per acre, lias now been disposed of privately to Mr J. McCartin, Lakeside, at £24 per acre.
