LYTTELTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The Lyttelton Borough Council mwt last evening. Present—Tho.Mayor (Mr S. R. Webo), Cis. N. C. Schumacher, J. McLean, J. T. Norton, G. C. Smith, (J. Kay, W. T. Foster, J. Garrard, W. Radchfte, and J. Grubb. The Works committee reported that the Foreman of Works estimatod the cost of the proposed fence along Reserve Terrace, at £20 12s. It was decided that the work be carried out. The annual report of the engineer of the Ueathcote Valley pumping station stated that during the year ended March 31st, 1905, the engines had worked 3351 hours, pumping about 45,623,000 gallons of water into tho main reservoir, ns against 3682 hours during the year ended March 31st, 1904, when the quantity pumped was 45,614,000 gallons. Tho report was adopted. The Town Clei'K presented a report of the operations of the Council during tho year ended March 31st, 1905. Tho report was adopted. A vote of thanks to the officers of the Council for their services during the year, was carried unanimously. The Mayor thanked the Councillors for the manner in which they had assisted him, and several Councillors spoke in appreciation of the manner in which the Mayor had performed his duties.
