(SPECIAL TO "THE TRESS.") DUNEDIN, February 23. Coming back from the Tahuna Trotting Meeting two cabs collided, and were upset. Mr Brinkman, tho wellknown handicapper, was a passenger in one, but fortunately escaped unhurt, as did the others. (PRESS ASSOCIATION T-XCCRA-M.) INVERCARGILL, February 23. T. A. Patchett, aged thirty-seven, died suddenly yesterday while being conveyed to Wyndham fo.r medical aid. Ho was formerly a hotolkeeper, but lost his license in consequence of reduction. He had just commenced work at a flaxmill. NAPIER, February 23. A young lady named Bessie Hartshorn, of Hastings, about twenty-one years of age, was.drowned while bathing on the beach at Clivo range this afternoon.
