ARTILLERY DUEL ON THE SHAHO. A RAILWAY BRIDGE DESTROYED. (Received February 26th, 4.27 p.m.) LONDON, February 25. The Japanese are gradually closing in upon General Kuropatkin's left flank, where General Sakaharoff reports the Japanese have renewed their attack upon Tdinchenshan, turning one position. An artillery duel was fought on the Shaho on Wednesday and Thursday, and several outpost collisions occurred. General Sakaharoff states that a detachment which was sent to destroy the railway blew up a bridge southwards of Haicheng. While "returning, they were almost intercepted as they traversed the Japanese lines. Two officers were wounded.
