A BISHOPRIC SEQUESTRATED.
A sensation has been caused in Hungary by tho sequestration of the Roman Catiliolic Bishopric of Rownau, owing to the indebtedness of the bishop, Dr. Ivanknvitch, amounting to £5C0,000. Tho doctor's ilehts date back to the time lieforo he was r-'iiscd to episcopal rank, when he fell into tho hands of usurers in ei.rh "ring to give financial assistance to hi>' taimly. As the revenue of the w is only £3500, there is no chance of tlw bishop being able to satisfy his creditors, and he was recently requested to resign by the Hungarian Government, but hei refused, on the ground that, tho vision (£150) offered him was ton inadequate. Now that tho Government has taken the* almost unparalleled measure nT sequestrating the bishopric, the bishop will probably he forced to resign and to retire to a convent.
