SWIMMING.
YALDHURST CLUB. Tho annual meeting of the Ya'ldhurst Amateur Swimming Club wa» held on Monday, when there was a. good attendance of member*, Mr R. O'Donnell (captain) presided. The balance-sheet showed the receipts for the year to have bpen £40 16s lid, and the expendituro £26 9s, leaving a. credit balance of £14 7s lid. The number .of members was. 34 Feniors and 4 juniors. The following officers wero elected:—Patrons, Messrs C. Lewis and ft. Witty. M.H.R.'s:. president, Mr R. J. Mason; vice-presidents, Messrs G. Palmer, M. Hobbs, G. L. Stead, C. H. Piper, W. Johnston, W. J. Guy, J. Franks, F. H. Bowler, and W. T. Burgess; captain, Mr R. O'Donnell; vice-captain. Mr P. Mason; hon. secretary, Mr F. J. Clarke; committee. Messrs W. T. Franks, P. Johnston, F. Franks, j.Jamieson, A. Kingdon, C, Jamieson, H. Papps, H. Betwick, C. Nerdham, and W. Davics, junr.; handicappers, Messrs R.-O'Donnell and F. H. Bowler; delegate to Centre, Mr F. H. Bowler. A vote of thanks was accorded to. the old committee. - A movement is on foot to erect, a swimming bath at Amberley, and a public meeting will be held on" the 29th inst.'to discuss the matter.
