In giving evidence under cross-examina-tion, Thomas Koenan_ said lie-did. not remember the date of the conversation -with the accused about the power of attorney. The accused said he had a>.power of attorney, and witness asked him to produce it Accused said he would produce it, but failed to do co. Witness said he n*ver affixed his mark to any document, whxwier ho was well or ill. Accused did not chow witness any account of the sales at any time, although witness had asked him to do »o • several tinies. AVUueee allowed ivecused to manage his affairs,, because lie did not think ho would bo ill long, and because lie was helpless and had no choice. Befofe the commissioners epoke to him. he had- his doubts ns to whether the accused was managing his affairs properly, but he did not speak about the iratber. The im-n engaged by King to attend to witness used to refuse, to. go messages for him. One refused to go for the cammiwsioners,. and he also met with a refusal when he asked one to go for the doctor.
