The ultra-Protestant section, at a meeting of the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel ot Liverpool, assailed tho Bishop of Madagascar, who was wearing a cross, with shouts of "Take your cross and go to Rome," "Jesuit," and "Traitor." The Bishop of Liverpool (Dr. Chavasse) in closing the meeting told the minority that they were going far to make the great name of Protestant stink in the nostrils. CThis meeting was evidently held in connection with the Church Congress now sitting at Liverpool. A party of AntiRitualists, with Mr John Kensit at their head, created a disturbance last week when the Congress was marching in procession to Liverpool Cathedral.l
