The offence is alleged to have taken plaoe on the occasion of a drunken raid, thoee concerned having previously obtained liquor eleewhere. The premieee belonged to a man who at the time was serving * eentence for ely grog sdlipg. Quantities of liquor were discovered by the police, concealed behind.the lining of the trailding.* The evidence-for the defence went to show that -the witnesses on the other aide were actuated by motives of revenge. The judge commented on the xunatirfactory nature of the evidence for the prosecution, and the jury ocauittcd the prisoner.
