NOTES AND MEMORANDA.
An address to fruitgrowers with reference to the spraying of trees will be given to-Light at 7.30 by Mr Blackmore, Government Pomologist, at the old glassworks, Manchester street.
The drawing-room entertainment by tho Rev. T. Taifc, pastor of St. Paul's Presbyterian Ohurch, entitled, "An Evening in Society," will be given in tlie Canterbury Hall, on August 23rd, at 8 p.m. The proceeds will 'be in aid of the> St. Paul's Presbyterian organ and hall fund.
The anfittal general meeting of tho Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Club, will be held in the rooms, Cathedral square, on Monday, at 8 p.m. .The notice regarding holiday excursion tickets on the railways for the Grand National Meeting, appears elsewhere.
The times of starting of the afternoon trams to-day are notified elsewhere.
An election of a member of the Mount Herbert County Council will take place on Tuesday, 16th inst., at Teddington. The candidates are Messrs J. O. Qebbie and Quinton Campbell Manson.
