— ♦ THE ASSOCIATION GAME. NEW SOUTH WALES v CANTERBURY. The Association football match between New South Wales and Canterbury, which was played at Lancaster Park yesterday, attracted a very fair attendance considering the unpleasant "weather, the sum of £3014s b?ing taken in gate money. The heavj i rain of tho preceding two days had left the, ground so muddy nnd slippery that tlw players had considerable difficulty in keeping* their footing. Tlie combination ol the winners was decidedly more effective than that of the Canterbury team, and their passing was more accurate.
