AGED SENATOR MARRIES YOUNG GIRL. United Press Assccation—By Electric Tolegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, July 13. A. sensatiion was caused in New York by the announcement of the marriage of Senator W. A. Clarke, the Montana "Copper King," to a penniless lady twentylive years old, whom he educated at Washington and Paris. Senator Clarke is sixtyfive years of age. ✓ Mr William A. Clarke, the multi-mil-lionairo "Copper King," and senator for Montana, is having what promises to be the most magnificent residence in the United States erected in Fifth Avenue, New York. Commenced in 1899, this palatial structure is now within two years ol its completion, and the total cost will amount to over a million pounds. It is almost entirely constructed of marble, white granite, and bronze. The costing £100,000, comes from tlie senator's own foundry, while for the granite lie bought up an entire quarry in Maine, and is obtaining the marble from his works in Long Island. In the interior a series of four picture galleries, with a wall space of 438 feet, will contain a display of art treasures which will be unrivalled in tlie United States, with the possible exception of the collection of Mr Pierpont Morgan. In the basement an elaborate Turkish bath, containing a large white marble piscina for swimming, will complete this fairy palace worthy of tlie Arabian Nights.
