This week "The Weekly Presshas five pictures of the visit to \ tjie Urewera Country, in which the beauties of the little "known Huia-.vau Trail are shown, as well as some very fins bits of native life. Tlie Fete in Dunedin in aid of the Veterans' Home was made the occasion of a farewell to his Excellency from the southern capital, and here again a number of excellent puotos were secured, including the presentation of the addresses, the Theatrical Ladies' Cricket Match, and the Maori Dances. One oi these presents a very characteristic portrait of Lord Ranfurly, the best of tha many tliat have appeared. Antarctica _ is still prominent in the minds of New Zealanders, and readers will enjoy a third instalment of pictures of this fascinating subiect. The War in the East has, owing to one or two thrilling events, com. once more to the front,-and the iuustra- ' tions in connection with the war show the position the troops of either Power will have to take up in Korea, and give an excellent idea of the country, aa well as of the most exciting events in this great struggle. No one Who reads fiction at all should miss this week's short storiej. Worthy of mention, too,'is H. W. Lucy's "Historic Scenes., in the House of Com* men.," the first of a series of articles by distinguished writers. As a special supplement; is published anotlier Press Portrait, Captain Harry McKay, of the Terra Nova. In the Farmer the freehold question and wheat growing in Manchuria are dealt with editorially. In the "Referee" the. racing of the past week at Wellington and Avondale is fully dealt with, and the prospects of coming meetings are discussed. In the department of outdoor sports, special prominence is given to football, but all other branches of sport receive adequate attention. , ..-.
