MR CLEMENT L. WRAGGE'S LECTURE. Mr Clement L. Wragge gave the last of his series of lectures at the Choral Hall on Saturday night, the subject being "The Majesty of Creation." There was a large attendance, and the beautiful lantern pictures shown were much admired. To-night Mr Wragge will give a lecture at Kaiapoi. j GARRISON BAZAAR. The attendance at the Garrison Bazaar ! in the Colosseum on Saturday, both after- ' noon and evening, was very large. All the ', stalls seemed to be kept busy, and the Art Gallery, Shooting Gallery, and other sideshows were well patronised. No. 1 Company of the Engineers' gave an example of their work, and some of the Canterbury Highland Rifles danced a reel in splendid style. The bazaar will open again this evening, when special attractions are pro- , mised. , OPERA HOUSE. Tlie Opera House was well filled In all • parts on Saturday night, when Fuller's > !E-tertainers submitted a new programme. '. Hiss Florrie Swift, eerio singer and dancer, 1 made her first appearance, and was warmly - received. Mr Joe Rocks, who also made ; his first appearance, came in for hearty ; applause. Mr Will Watkins, (Mr Will Dy- ; son, Mr Ted Herberte, and the Driscoll . Bros., and the Misses Maie .vlorice, Ida , Berridge, and Tillie Dunbar all gave new k items, which met with approval. The Delavalea went through some clever trick [ cycling. A farce, entitled "T_e Insurance i Office," concluded the evening* amusei ment. The programme will be repeated ■ this evening. WILLIAMSON OPERA COMPANY. The bright and sparkling music and charming _tage pictures ot *\aty Lady Molly" attracted a large and enthusiastic audience on Saturday night to the Theatre. The opera' went splendidly throughout, Misses Florence Young, Evelyn Scott, Uhikmj and Chetwynd aud Messrs Jackson and Roberta winning loud applause for their acting and singing. Mr Joantock and Mr*Lauri were both excellent, and the chorus and orchestra rendered signal service. This evening, which is the last appearance but one hereof the company, there will be a revival, for this occasion only* of the beautiful opera, , "Ma Mia Rosette." It is a good many years since it was produced in Christchurch, and it was received with much appreciation. Miss Florence Young will be seen in the. part of Rosette, ! a character which is said both dramatically and vocally to be ova-of-her best efforts. M»*e Gelii* , Ghiloni, who has won many friend* by her excellent work during the season, will appear as Corisande. Mr Geo > Lauri will be seen in his original character- of Bouillon, and Miss Evelyn Scott as the much-married Martha. Mr Haigh Jackson has th© best opportunity afforded him during the stay of the company to display his powers as King Henri, and Mr Roberts ahould also be well cast for Vincent. The remainder of the characters in the cast are said to *be excellently suited. The i revival of "The Mikado," which should be quite an event, will close the season tomorrow night. HOLLOWAY DRAMATIC COMPANY The Charles Holloway Dramatic Comi pony had a very enthusiastic send-off from Dunedin on Saturday night.. They leave by express, to-day for Christchurch,. opening their season at the Theatre on Wednesday evening in "Tlie Two. Little Vagabonds." Miss Beatrice Holloway, leading lady, who is a daughter of Mr 1 Charles Holloway, will make her debut here in the character of Dick. The company kt a strong one, and Mr Holloway ha* a' number of good piece* in hi* reper- , toire, which will be presented in rapid succession, a* the season is a short one. MISS MENKMEYER'S RECITALSIn response to the desire of many music lovers to hear Mis* Florence Menkroeyer again, arrangements ha—s been made -by the management to give another recital at the Canterbury Hall, the date of which will be announced on Wednesday. In addition to the programme of piano numbers, Mis* Menimeyer will give two scenes from grand opera in costume. These include scene* from the- third act of "Faust," and one act from The role of Don Joae will be song by Mr Alfred Prengel, tenor. Such a unique programme aa this should induce a large attendance.
