RIFLE SHOOTING. The final for Lieutenant Horrell's trophy was fired by the Kaiapoi Rifles on Saturday, 'seven shots at 200, 500 and 600 yds. The highest scorer was Private Richards, who made 92 points, which, added to 66, his last week's score, and handicap 4, made his score 162." Private G. Horsfall scored 80 and 60, and with'his handicap 21, reached 161. Corporal Whitley made 90 and 65 from scratch, total 155. Tlie scores made in five contests for the Kaiapoi Rifles' Champion Belt were: — Corporal Whitley 442, Sergeant Simpson 451. These two riflemen have won the belt alternately over a period of six years. Tlie next highest scorers were:—Private Richards 424, and Private Templeton 357.
