(TONS ASSOCIATION TELEGKAM.I PALMERSTON NORTH, April 19. Some time ago a settler named Knight was arrested at the instance of a neigh- ■ I ar named McHardy for cutting a wire ieiit-e at night. Knight was subsequently charged with wilful damage to the property, but, on representatkm of his counsel that the fence was cut under the bona fide belief that it was on his boundary, cue case was dismissed, the understanding being that a Supreme Court action be taken to have the boundaries defined. In the meantime Knight started an action agnin&t McHardy for damages :j>r wrongi ful imprisonment. The matter has been t settled by McHardy paying £360 and ait cos-te, and agreeing to set the fence line back, and express regret to Knignt through the local Press.
