MEETINGS, ENTERTAIN. MENTS, &c.
The fifth annual general meeting of the Lyttelton Marine Band was held on Monday evening, Mr J. Gower presiding. The balance-sheet, showing the Band to be in a very found financial position, wa* adopted. The following officers were elected:—President, Mr F. W. Anderson; vice-president*. Messrs £. R. Webb, J. H. Uollin.o. W. Hannnv, N. C. Schumacher, T. Vangioni, W. Ra'dcliffe, C. Cook, F. Hinds. J. Grubb, and F. Beverley: bandmaster. Mr G. E. Collins; sergeant, Mr W. Sullivan; corporal, Mr W. Schollar; lance-corporal, Mr T. Wells; secretary, Mr J. Gower; treasurer, Mr W. Scholia r; committee, Messrs G. E. Collins, F. Childs, F. Laming, W. Sullivan, J. Lindsay, and fhs secretary and treasurer; auditors, Messrs T. Vangioni and M. Wearne; custodian, Mr F. Laming- The outgoing officers were accorded a hearty vote of thanks. It, waa decided to enter for the Qui.-kstep Competition to take place at Oaniarj ou January Ist.
