J. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the General Committee of the Canterbury A. end P. Association was held yesterday. Mr O. GouM, President, occupied the chair. Mr J. D. Milton -wrote, suggesting that a- Tot« of thank* should be given to Mr C. P. Hugonin for his work in connection -with the merino cup competition sheep. On the motion of Mr Overton, * vote of tliants was carried unanimously to Mr Hngbtun. , Mr "Stflveley, chairman of the Finance Committee, brought up the accounts in connection with the Show, amounting to £2235 6s 3d. Toe Finance Committee recommended that a gratuity of £5 "be (granted to Mr Wick*, caretaker; that » bonu» of £25 be granted toMrPembertwi, wM.that lm nalary be increased 'from £230 te £275, dating from the let November. . , . ,
The- recommendations were adopted, and the acenunto m presented were passed. Mr Murphy brought under the notice of the Committee tlie valuable service* rendered by Mr Oray m honorary chemist to the* Awociation. " Mr Gta-y had' excellent work ia connection with the milking tests. He moved —"That Mr Gray be elected as a life member of the-Associa-tion." * ' ' * .
The Preaident seconded the proposal, end bow teMimony ,to-Ih* great services rendered to the Association by Mr Gray. The motion was a'Kmd >«•
Mr W. F. M. Buckley was re-nominated to represent liic Association, on the Board of Governors of Lincoln College.
The Pr«?*i<Jeiit mentioned tliat' Messrs Geurge Hunter »iid W. L. Clifford had returned their expenses :aa judges as donations to the. Association, and a. rote of thanks was accorded to tbem. A hearty vote of thanks was alto passed to the gentlemen who acted as judges and marshals. *
