Captain Rason reports that there is no truth in the reported insult to the English flag by the French at Lpi, in the New Hebrides, nor of any fight with Tramble. The latter, as a matter of fact, was absent from Epi on the date of the supposed conflict. Ulie Rev. Wat;, ft Presbyterian miasiouarr in the New Hebrides, stated "on September 25th that trouble occurred at Epi between French residents and Mr Trumbk. an English settler. 'J ne French palled down the British Hug on Trumble's residence. Captain Rason is inquiring into the matter.]
