CARDINAL MORAN.
INTERVIEW WITH THE POPE. United Press Association—By Eleotrio Telegraph—Copy right. (Received October 28th, 9.59 p.m.) ROME, October 28. Cardinal Moran and Dean O‘Horan had a farewell audience, lasting half an hour, with tho Pope, who was much gratified with the great progress of Catholicism in Australia, He praised Australia for giving the Church full liberty, and added that British influence always promoted liberty in religion.
The Pope granted all Cardinal Moran’s requests, and made him the depository of all the Apostolic benedictions for Australia.
The Cardinal presented the Tope with a copy of his “Lives of the Irish Saints,” and also with Peter's Pence from Australia. The Pope presented the Cardinal with a beautiful silver statue of Our Lady of Hope.
