HOSPITAL BOARD.

A meeting of the Hospital Board was held yesterday. Present —Messrs W. Dunlop (chairman), G. Pawling, IV. Jacques, C. H. Winner, G. H. Mcllaffie, J. Hamilton, J. Wolfe, F. Horrell, and McMillan.

Tlte statement of accounts showed receipts for the month £951 lbs 4d, and payments by committee £350 8s Bd. The report was adopted, and accounts totalling £756 9s 7d were passed for payment. The Committee’s report stated that the new operating room was now fitted with the lavatories and radiators, and tenders for electric wiring would be called. The second contract for painting the corridors and kitchen had been completed very satisfactorily. The report was adopted. The audited balance-sheet for 1902-3. which was laid on the table, showed total receipts £13.023 12s 3d (including balance from last year of £741 12s 9d). expenditure £11,082 8s 6d, and credit balance, March 31st, 1905, £1941 Zs Sd. The expenditure included £9957 0s 3d on the Christchurch Hospital, exclusive of charges for furnishing the operating room, dynamo, painting the nurses’ home, and architect and clerk of works. The expenditure for the Akaroa Hospital was £3OO Cs 7d. and for the Lyttelton casualty ward £159 2s 7d.
