NOTES AND MEMORANDA.

The annual meeting of the Central Dairy Company will be held to-day, at noon, in the Chamber of Commerce. The horse parade of the Ellesmere Agricultural and Pastoral Association will be lieild at Leeston on Friday, September 25th. Entries close on September 24th. An open-air meeting under the auspices of the Prohibition League will take place in Cathedral square to-night, at 8. The third tenn of 1903 in connection with Christ's College will begin on Wednesday, September 30th. Examinations for the Junior Somes Scholarship commence on September 23rd. Excursion tickets will be issued for the Geraldine races on September 2?ch and 25th.

Tenders for the Christchurch Tramway Board £250,000 loan close at noon on September 30th.

The eight business sites comprised in the Canterbury Hall property, fronting Manchester, Worcester and Gloucester streets will be sold by auction in the Alexandra Hall on Thursday, October 22nd, at 2.00 p.m. A meeting of caterers, confectioners, restaurant keepers, etc., will be lield at the Employers' Association Rooms on Monday, at 7.30 p.m., to consider the demands of the Caterers' Employees' Union. The Elite Band will play in the Sydenham Rotunda to-morrow afternoon, commencing at 3.30. The glass works will give a special demonstration this afternoon. A social and instrumental recital has been arranged to be given at an early date by Mr Leo Buckcridge, assisted by Herr Zimmerman and others. The annual general meeting of the Union Cycling Ciub will be held at the Clarendon Hotel to-night.
