THE LATE MR THOMSON.
A MASONIC FUNERAL. There was a very large gathering of the Masonic craft at Christchuroh yesterday afternoon to attend the funeral of the late M.W. Bro. Henry Thomson, first Grand Master under the New Zealand Const'itution. The Grand Master came from Wellington, and many Masons from other parte of the colony attended to pay a last tribute to their esteemed fellow craftsman. 'me sister constitutions were well represented, and in addition many private citizens attended the funeral. After the impressive private ceremony in the St. AugUKtine Hall, the procession left for 'Linwcotl Cemetery, where the interment took place. In uddition to a long line of carriages three special trams carried the bretliren to Linwood. A number of beautiful wreaths and floral tributes covered the casket, and were laid on tho grave. Grand Lodge was opened at the St. Augustino Hall at 2.30 p.m., there being present the Grand Master, M.W.G.M. Bro. H. J. Williams, P.G.M. Bro. Malcolm J Nicoll (G.S.), M.W.I'.D.G.M. Bro.
