Robinson, who has been appointed to the command of the Diadem, taking relief crews to the Australian Station, will assume command of the Tauranga when the latter is placed in commission. CHURCH AND STATE IN FRANCE. PARIS, September 15. The French Premier, in augurating M. Renin's statue at Tregives, admitted that the State was now in open warfare with the clergy, whose passive resistance to the Religious Associations' Bill was really active mutiny.
