SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
Reporting to the School Committee, which met on Tuesday, the head master of the Aldington School stated that there were 500 children on the roll, and that the infant school, consisting of 140 children, was much overcrowded. The Committee decided to make a further urgent appeal to the Board to further the request for a special grant from the Education Department. Owing to there being no funds, accounts to the amount of £26- 18s were held over till the September incidentals were received.
