Our Timaru correspondent reports as follows : — The same doleful tale of limited sales has again to be repeated. Merchants geiicallv report that nothing is doing, and that the nuirket is practically dead. Millers are heavily stocked, and. it is said, will not require \,j buy for the next three months. Southern millers, however, do not appear to lie in that huppy pos>ition, for enquiries are beiinr received in Timaru from them for prim.- milling wheat, and the single line of vhi at which was sold locally during the v. eck went to a southern miller, who paid for it at a rule equal to o.s lljd, on trucks'. Timaru. This line comprised over •1000 bus'h.i-ls. It is predicted in some quarters that in the spri.ntr. when stocks are iinvr. there will lie ;ui improvement in ihe miirket". Oats .ire slow of sale, at Is Gd for medium, ar.d ls 7d for prime quality, l'.irl v is worth up to or;, and potatoes are sei'.i::.' at £2 15s pp.r ton. Flour is selling at £10. bran at £5, pollard at £4. and oatmeal at £10 10s per ton, in each case. GRAIN AND PRODUCE SHIPMENTS. The following were the grain and produce shipments from Lyttelton for the week ended Friday:—For Australasia: 250 sks oat--. h'rO -V.-t barley. Coastwise: 2815 sk* wheat. 1160 sks oats. 5 ski barley. 122 sks bran. 1331 sks and 1190 bags flour*. 244/ sks potatoes. 320 sks sluu-ps. Total shipTivtiis-.- 2&15 sks wheat, 1410 sks oats, 665 sks barhy. 122 sks bran, 1381 sks and 1190 h_;s tlour." 2447 sks potatoes. 320 sks sharps. To:al shipments for five weeks: 12.044 sks vh- it. 14.430 sks oats. 2071 sks barley, 136> .-k« bran. 6537 sks and 6669 bgs Hour. 21,449 sks potatoes. 2332 sks bran. "
