NORTH CANTERBURY POULTRY SHOW.

The annual show of the North Canterbury Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Society was optned yesterday in the Volunteer Drill Hall, Kaiapoi, and there was a very good exhibition of birds. The attendance of the public w_s larger than usual, and the judging by a gentleman from Victoria appeared to (jive every satisfaction. The gam* classes were fairly representative, Mr tvnii dy's exhibits being the pick of the section. There were also some good birds in bhick-red pullets. The special for best fowl in the show was awarded to .Mr Ross, for a silver cock- Golden W'yandottcs were also an interesting feature, and the Orpington classes excited keen competition. There-was a nice show of bantams, and generally speaking the quality was good. The show of pigeons was not large, though some nice specimens WlTe j><miii<hl.
