RANGIORA BOROUGH COUNCIL
The Rangiora Soroush Council met on, Friday evening, the :Mayor (Mr J. Carmichael) presiding. fhe of the Fire Brigade was laid on the table. It ."•■howed tha receipts to have hecn £40 6s lOd, and expenditure £29 2s 7d, leaving a ciy>i_l lxilance of £11 % 3d. The Sanitary Oommittce recommended that tne following matt-era were n-eceasary for the benefit of tlra borough:—(l) _vat tiie burgesses within r. prescribed area bs compelled to adopt the pan «3->-tem for night-soil, and that tne Council provide a horse and cart to do the work. (2) That all rubbish of tho nouses within the same area be removed once a week. (3) That the Council be urged to provide an efficient water supply so as to assist the sewerage of the town; in tuo meantime all property owners who have cesspits ba compelled to do away with the same, and adopt a tepuo tank ml place thereof. (4) That a -ea.._ officer he appointed. It wis decided to refer tho report to the Finance and Sanitary Committees for consideration. The financial statement showed receipts for vne month £I_6 4s 6d, dr. balance £60 15s. Accounts wer» passed for payment amounting to £60 14s 3d.
