SUPREME COURT ACTIONS.
(111 ESS ASSOCIATION TET/EGBAM.) WELLINGTON. May 21. At the Supreme Court to-day, the hearing was concluded of the case, Corby v Macartby, claim for £1000 damages for a breach of covenant in connection with, the rebuilding_of an Shotel at Newtown. The jury awarded plaintiff £156 damages for lose of premieee, and £344 for loss of profits and inconvenience. Counsel for defendant will move to have the judgment set aside on the ground that the amount awarded under the second head is againet tfw evidence.
In the oase, George Wiikins versue Vincent Connell, claim £500 damages for eeduction of plaintiffs daughter, the jury awarded plaintiff £250. The defendant is a junior clerk in the employ of a city firm, «nd hat not yet reached his majority. The girl ie eighteen years of age.
