That very versatile monarch, tho German Emperor, is ako a painter of no mean merit. The Kaiser's wife. and children possess r.omo beautiful pict sires in oils pointed by tho Emperor. It if, however, tho profession of a journalist (wiy« "Castsel's Saturday Journal") that the Kaiser -would prolxjhly hare adopted bad lie been irduoed to thu'cxtremity of earning his own living. Under a pen-name, he has contributed many articles to German magazines on a variety of subjects, while his Majcssty has also written many excellent poems. The Kaiser's eldest Mm has evidently inherited Ms. father's literary itstinct, for he has written many short stories and Beta of Twr*ee. Germany's Crown Prince leade a rather exemplary "life, and one of his favourite hobbies consists of writing -poetry. A* a musician, too, the Crown Prince sbinee <to advantage. He is a bkiiful pianist and violinist, in addition to which l*e eingn extremely well.
