The oldest is written in Henry VIII.'s reign, t in tho year 1537, others in Elizabeth, ( Jsm?->. and Charles. It-, and later. They , are conveyances, leases, receipts, inden- 1 tines, etc. One is decidedly interesting ( to this country, as showing the relation of _ master to man in that it is a "rule limit- ( ing servants' and artisans' wages under an , act of Elizabeth," and written about 1670; : and signed by the Justices and Clerk of > the Peace.
