A DARING PROPOSAL.
Across Niagara, Otto Petersen, of Brooklyn, intends to go hanging by his teeth from a. leather strap, says a New York telegram, dated 23rd March, published in a Canadian newspaper, connected with a ""in wire, while suspended from- his b.:dy by a leather harness lie carries a man of his own weight—l3olb. Petersen's qualifications for the feat are being boomed by the Danish Athletic Club of South Brooklyn, of which h" is physical director. Tha club has placed a wager of 200dol. that, he will do the feat. Harry and Nels Muich and Peter Gaiburi: are his backers. Recently Petersen held a l'in bar of wrought iron in his teeth, while- six men, throe on either side of him. bent it in the foim of a crescent. At the club he. has also entertained his friends by breaking No. 8 Jack steel ch»ins, which v.ere bolted to the Jlor.r, by pulling on them with his teeth, ne how lifted 700 pounds with his teeth, and has hung suspended by his teeth for half an hour. The main fails at Niagara are about 1000 feet wide. With a slanting wire Petersen hopes to cross them in six minutes.
