OFFER BY STRIKE EXECUTIVE. (Received May 18th, 6.57 p.m.) MELBOURNE, May 18. The men were all day discussing a motion including a proposal to take a ballot on the question of accepting Mr Irvine's terms. The matter wifll probably not be decided till late to-night. The Strike 'Executive have expressed willingness to sacrifice six of their number, including Messrs Hart and Scorer, if the Commissioner will consider the claims of others who did not take such an active part in the dispute.
