Spart»t«'« arrival there from Portsmouth, states tiut if she becomes the Australasian flagship the colonies will secure the moot economical and beet steaming cruiser in the Navy.
The Spartinte has a displacement of 11,000 tons, and is 435 feet long, with ft draught of 26 feet. The cruiser woe built at Pembroke and launched in .1898. Her at earning power ifl 20.75 knots.
