The Secretary of the Engine-drivers' and Firemen's Association states that out of between thirteen and fourteen hundred members, not more than fifteen remain in the service. No trains were run yesterday. The Government are confident of getting a better service at work to-day. The State has received numerous offers of assistance, and the Government intend to run the Melbourne-Sydney express to-day at any cost.
