PARISH MEETINGS.
_- ST. JOHN'S, WINCHESTER.
At tho annual meeting of parishioners the vicar. Rev. J. M. Adcock, 8.A., presided. The balance-sheet showed receiirts of £62, and expenditure leaving a ore-dit. of £6 8s 7d. The report mentioned the services to the Church of Mrs F. H. Barker, of the choir, the organist (Mr R. Smith, jun.), the lay readers, and the Sunday schoolteachers. A* hearty vote of thanks was passed to all those mentioned. The following officers were appointed:—Vicar's churchwarden. Mr A. W. Ensor; people's churchwarden, Mr H. E. Smith; vestrymen. Major J. A. Young, and Messrs F. W. Shallard, W. Klee, J. Deßenzv, W. Stewart, F. H. Harte, A. L. Barker. F. H. Barker, H. C. Bennett, and R. Smith, jun.
The annual distribution of Sunday school prizes* was held in tho Sunday schoolroom on Friday evening. The Rev. Mr Adcock presented tlte prizes. Tlie fe/ilowing were the chief prize winners:—Grade VII., Win. Deßenzy, T. Pearce. Emma Deßenzy. Grade V., Magpie Harte. Berniee Barrett, Bessie Philp. Grade IV., Lorn?a Young, A. Barrett, F. Barrett. Grade 111., Arthur Deßenzy, Nellie Louden, W. Young. Grade 11.. Cyril Deßenzy, F. Barrett. A. Young. Grade 1.. Lily Harte and Alice Louden (equal), W. Harte. Infants and others also received prizes. A gift auction then took place, Mr C. E. Shallcras?, auctioneer, of Geraldine, kindly consenting to sell the- goods, which consisted oi all kinds of form produce, fruit, and children's clothing.
