COALGATE.
The usual monthly sale was held at Coalgate on Friday, when the yarding consisted of between 3000 and 4000 sheep and lambs, of which about 1000 were classed aa fats, the bulk being lambs. The attendance of farmers and dealers was fully up to the average, and competition Was good for all classes, both fat and stores, and all lots changed hands at following rates: — Freezing wethers 18s 5d to 18s lQd, fat lambs (beet) 13s 4d to 14s sd, lighter sorts 12s 2d to 12s 9d, fat crossbred ewes 10s 3d to 13s sd, fat merino ewes 5s 7d to 6s, forward crossbred wethers 14s 6d to 16s 2d, two-tooth crossbred wethers 12s 9d to 14s, store lambs 7s Id to 10s lOd, twotooth crossbred ewes 13s, mixed ages crossbred ewes 9s Bd, aged ditto 3s lOd to 7s 7d," sound-mouth merino ewes 10s to 10s 3d. The most noticeable Bales were: — For Trustees late J. A. McHraith, 89 freezing wethers 18s lOd; Rev. Ronaldson, 20 fat lambs 14s od; Mr W. Wilson, 30 at 13s 9d; Messrs W. and G. Hall, 200 at 12s 6d to 13s 9d; Mr D. J. Osborne, 136 at 13s 6d; Mr Alec Beatty, 150 at 13s 4d; aged draught horses £13 10s to £59; pigs and cattle at full market prices.
