THE ARIADNE CASE.

WELLINGTON, May 9. Mr A. de B. Brandon, a local solicitor, is the examinpr appointed by the High Court of England to take the evidence of a number of witnesses from various parts of the colony and Australia in the case Kerry r the underwriters at Llov-'r of the yacht Ariadne, to recover the policy moneys on the vessel. The total amount of the insurance, it will be recollected, was £10,000, but the present action is for tlie recovery of a portion from one underwriter, but it is understood that the deeirion in this case will govern the whole of the claims. Mr Skerrett will act for Mr Kerry, and Mr Myers for the underwriters. Tlie taking of evidence and cross-examination will probably occupy several days of next week, but the proceedings will not be open to the Prt-»s. Tbe deposition* will be forwarded to Le:;doa.
