THE CHURCH MISSION FUND.
TO TUB KDITOB 07 THB PBESS. •Sir, —I quite agree with your correspondent "Subscriber" that parishes like St. Matthew's, St. Albans, >bonld not receive % grant from the Church Jlwsioa Fund. "Sttbacriber" says that the above parish has an income of £525 per annum, but, happening to see a copy of their balancefbeet. I find tliat betw«n £600 arul £700 has been raised in the dbtrict .during the past year, in V> a loan of £250 from the Churcli Property Trustees. When a parish con raise an amount iike tbLs in twelve months, eurely there i« no j,eed for a grant of £25 to be made to them from the Church Mission Fund. It is to be. hoped the new vestry of St. Matthew's, St. Albany, will not nccept tnJs £25. Granted that last year was an exceptional year by having a live veftry, but why should a parish like St. Matthew's not always have an energetic and pushing reEtrv? —Yours, etc., ANOTHER SUBSCRIBER TO THL ABOVE FUND.
