IX BANCO. APPEAL FRO>T~AFFILIATIOIJ ORDER, Thomas Gamble, of Soutbbridge, fanner, appealed from an order made by Mr H. W. Biehop. S.M., at Leeston, on November 7th, 1902, adjudging him to bo tho putative father of an illegitimate child of Jane Armstrong, of Southbridge, and directing him to pay 7s 6d! weekly for the maintenance of the child, £6 6s medical expenses, and £1 Is solicitor's feeMr Russell appeared for the appellant, and 3lr Harper for the respondent, Jane Armstrong. The appeal was one on the facts, and the chief grounds ■were that no evidence had been tendered to the Magistrate which in any vray corroborated the. evidence of the respondent; that there was no evidence tendered from which Gaiublo could be declared the. putative father of the dhild; and tliat there vras no evidence to justify the order.
The proceedings took the form of a rehearing, and the evidence given before the Magistrate was repeated.
At tho conclusion of the evidence, his Honour, at the request of Mr Harper, adjourned the case sice, die, for the purpose of obtaining additional medical evidence.
