HUTT TRAINING NOTES.
(press association telegram.) WELLINGTON, April 21. Tho Hutt course this morning w— a little holding, and tbo outside of the track proper was used for training operations. Porirua, who seemed a little .ore-, was sent a couple of solid rounds under a strong pull, yet covered the last seven furlongs in lmin 37see. Windwhistlo and Aheriow were about a match, over fivo furlongs, run in lmin Bscc. Treadmill did six furlongs comfortably in lmin -Osec. Cannie Chiel ran n. solid round. Tercelet and Ballyncety sprinte<l s ix furlongs separately. Golden Vein ran seven furlongs in lmin 36£s-o, but tired at five finish. Shackle was sent over a mile at tiiree-quarter pace, end appeared in robust health. Exmoor was restricted to half-pace work. liia galloped six furlongs in lmin Sljsec, finishing nicely Tsaritea covered five furiong-s in lmin ssec, the .nmrtest furlong of the two mornings. St. Denis did six furlongs in lmin 20i-ec, running the first four furlongs in 51sec. Shrapnel Shell had the advantage of Hydrant over six furlongs, ridd.n out, the last five being cut out in lmin 6 4-5— sec. Hatley easily defeated Benefactor over a einiilar distance. Red Gauntlet went six furlongs in lmin 20 l-sth sec, finishing welL. There waa little to choose between Pcfcrovna and Pure Silver at the end of six furlong., run in lmin 21Jsec. Pipi jumped four of tho cross-country obstacles in good style. Pampero, having thrown off his slight soreness, covered two rou_ds -at about hall-pace. Terrapin and Lol-ah both had something in hand coming homo from six furlongs in lmin 21_sec. Light proved too good for Kohi—ui over a round, seven furlongs of which took lmin 40sec. Lavalette ran four furlongs pleasingly. Wind covered seven furlongs in lmin 37sec, and Ballarst six in lmin 23sec. Narcotic and Turcpo were fairly evenly matched over half a mile, run in 55Jsec. Pallas attempted to give Ringnian ten lengths in a mile, but failed to make up more than half his ground. Ringman's time was lmin 48 3-Sth sec. Palilas went another round at quarter pace. Motor cut out half a mile in 64aec. F. Holmes arrived with his team this morning.
