CANTERBURY RUGBY UNION. ' A meeting. of the Canterbury Rugby Union was held yesterday afternoon. Present—Messm J. C. Adams (chairman), - J. R. Evans, G. Scott, S. Orchard, F. T. Evans, H. B. Gray, H;, 0. Harrison, W. Walton, and W. G. Garrard (non. seerstary). .. * The secretary's action in conveying the thanks of tbe Union to Dr. Parsons, Kai&poi, for his services in connection, with .the accident fund, was approved. Mr G. H. Mason, chairman of the annuel meeting of delegates, wrote stating that he had inadvertently declared carried two motions, dealing with the.Unions finances. 1 They had not been supported by the necessary majority provided (by Role 32. It was pointed out that if the movers of the motions wished to bring them up again they could do so by asking for a general meeting of delegates. The "letter was received. It was decided to instruct the Unidn's delegate to keep the Union informed as to the position or the .proposal to send a team to England, and to push the matterforward. It was decided to offer the Taranaki Union the sum of £20 for a Saturday match in this city between a Taxanaki and a local team. The New , Zealand Union wrote, asking to have forwarded the names and particulars of ployera, wfeo > would be able to obtain the necessary leave to go to Australia, and stating that the first match would ba played on. July 18th, and the last on August 12th, the teem leaving New Zealand about July 11th. The letter was referred to the Selection Committee. The Secretary reported with regard to the recommendation from the annual meeting to make the Annual self-supporting, that it was proposed to delete a number of pages. The report wss agreed to. The Secretary's report regarding the President's Oup matches, recommending that all the teams should meet each other, was agreed to. With regard to this season's matches, it was stated that the rule dealing with keeping the ground absolutely clear of ih& publio during matches would be rigidly enforced. The Secretary reported that though due notice had been given of the closing of entries for the competitions, the Christchurch, Canterbury College, and Lyttelton
