Tho annual meeting of the local branch of the Farmers' Union resolved that the Union should urge the representatives in Parliament to oppose legislation making it compulsory that Unionists have prtferer.ee of employment iv Arbitration Court awards; that the Union enter n, strong protest against the protection tariff on imported farming machinery for the support of a combination of implement makers; that, the Union support Mr Kirkbride, "M.H.R.. in his proposed legislation,, for the mutual insurance of farmers against fire and accident. The resolutions "will be forwarded to the Conference.
